Oughnia Raqm Wahad (2003–05), the adaptation of the format by Carson Prod La Chanson Numero 1, came as a continuation of another Future TV hit series, Superstar, the Arab world’s wildly popular version of Pop Idol. In each episode, finalists from Superstar were selected to perform a leading Arab singer’s new songs, in the presence of the singer himself. But viewers had the final word of the evening as they cast their votes for the number-one song.
